To look to the future, it is necessary to analyze the present, detect challenges and analyze trends so that solutions are adapted to latent needs. And it is precisely this objective that is the focus of the ‘En Futuro’ cycle, which opens tomorrow in Molina de Segura, bringing together experts from different fields of activity in order to propose strategies that contribute to that projection for which the municipality is committed.
‘En Futuro Molina de Segura’ will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Nonagonal Room of the Museum of the Enclave of the Wall (Mudem) and will focus on a round table, which will be moderated by Víctor Rodríguez, Editor-in-Chief of LA VERDAD. In it, in addition to the mayor of Molina de Segura himself, Eliseo García Cantó, will participate on behalf of the social organizations Delia Topham, president of Afesmo and the Feafes Federation; from the neighborhood movement, Aurelia Fernández Fernández, member of Citizen Participation and Participatory Budgets of the Federation of Inter-neighborhood Neighborhood Associations; from the economy, the businessman and former president of the Association of Molinenses Entrepreneurs (Asecom), Eloy Jiménez, and the president of the Economic and Social Council of Molina de Segura, Ucomur and Cepes, Juan Antonio Pedreño; and of culture, the haberdasher, writer and editor, Paco López Mengual. A life in pictures
The ‘En Futuro’ cycle is one of the events that LA VERDAD has programmed to celebrate its 120 years of life defending good journalism. To this is added the ‘Expo 120 years’, an initiative with which it shows its most outstanding covers of all this time, and which have marked the present and the lives of its inhabitants.
The first stop will take place tomorrow in Molina de Segura in Mudem itself, and will be inaugurated at 5:30 p.m. by Víctor Rodríguez and the mayor of the municipality, Eliseo García. The exhibition, which can be visited there until March 5, consists of a total of 22 covers, selected for the relevance of the news they include, as well as those that show cultural events and names of the area.
In this way, it includes from the first surviving front page of the newspaper, dated September 25, 1903, to the attempted coup of 1981, the burning of the Regional Assembly in 1992, or more recently such as the pandemic, the arrival of the AVE and the first Grand Slam of Carlos Alcaraz.
