Ice hockey there was quite a surprise in the men's League on Friday, when the regular season runner-up Tampere Ilves fell to KalPa with a 1–4 match win. The surprise was also seen on Yle's Sports screen.
In Tampere, the final moments of the match were played, when the live broadcast moved from the Urheiluruutu studio to the side of the rink.
There was an experienced reporter there Jussi Saarinenwho had not been informed about the transfer of the shipment.
“Good Friday puck launch, plää, plää, plää, plää. Okay, sure,” Saarinen chatted to the camera and left the picture.
Next came a surprised “What?”, after which a confused Saarinen returned to the camera, flashing his cell phone.
Saarinen continued the narration with a smile on his face after realizing the situation.
“Sorry, there was a slight misunderstanding here, because apparently the broadcast was now in progress. But in any case, there are still four minutes and 25 seconds left in Tampere on this Friday puck night,” said Saarinen.
KalPa won with the goals of the match 4–2 and advanced to the semi-finals as the first team.
