He finished seventh in a high level race in which he proved to be finding the spark ahead of the Spanish Championship at the end of June and beat his personal best by almost three seconds. He did a time of 3:39.06.
Norwegian Narve Gilje Nordas won the race with a time of 3:36.23. He was followed by the Galician Adrián Ben (3:36.41), another specialist in the 800. Third was the Irishman Andrew Coscoran. And from behind came the Uruguayan Santiago Catrofe, the Qatari Mohamed Al-Garni, the Spanish Ayoub Mokhtar and Mariano García.
