Horse riding
The Murcian winner of the ANCCE Cup for Young Riders Dressage, with her countrywoman Sofía Sánchez in second position
Margarita García Zambudio (Murcia, 20 years old) has once again demonstrated this weekend in Seville that she is the great hope of regional equestrianism. The rider from Llano de Brujas, riding ‘Océano XXV’, has won for the second consecutive year the ANCCE Cup of Dressage for Young Riders, within the International Horse Show (SICAB 2021). She prevailed at the highest level of the championship in the minors section and rounded off a year that for her has been fantastic. She surpassed by one tenth in the final classification Sofía Sánchez, also from Murcia, who rode as ‘Notario de Amtuna’.
In the Selection Master for the European Horse Riding, Margarita finished sixth, which is why she was included in the Spanish B-team for dressage for minors. In the Spanish Championship, she was also ninth in a tournament with 50 horses. And his last challenge this season is to win the regional championship. His coach is Alejandro Perona González and he has the help of Antonio Vázquez, current runner-up in Spain. His parents, José Ángel García and Margarita Zambudio, also ride horses. And she combines horse riding with her law studies. He has no sponsors and all expenses are covered by his parents.
Navarro, third
For his part, Alejandro Navarro, from Cartagena, has won the bronze medal in the PRE World Championship that was also held this weekend in Seville within the framework of SICAB. Aged 11 and a resident of the Santa Ana residential area, Alejandro is a regional juvenile champion and is trained by María Díaz and David Quílez. Her sister Adriana is a children’s regional champion. His parents are Roberto Navarro and Mar Sánchez.
