The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, in cooperation with the Cultural and Heritage Festivals Management Committee in Abu Dhabi, is organizing the His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Marine Festival, in Al Sila City, Al Dhafra region, next Thursday, over a period of three days.
The festival includes a sailing race for the 60-foot class, in addition to a race for the 22-foot class that deals with youth, as well as a group of heritage marine activities that concern the people of the sea, in addition to the presence of a heritage village at the heart of the event.
The festival is held under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and is expected to witness a great turnout, especially since the 60-foot class is one of the most important, if not the most important, categories of sailing competitions.
The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has allocated 5 million dirhams in prizes to the winners of the race, with the aim of motivating lovers of marine heritage to participate in this great sporting event.
The event comes after a short period of time after the organization of the Maritime Commodities Festival, which concluded last Saturday and witnessed the holding of a race for the 43-foot category, the results of which resulted in the control of the bearings of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the first five places and the crowning of two tigers with the title.
For his part, Ahmed Thani Murshid Al Rumaithi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, thanked the wise leadership for the constant support for sport in general and for marine heritage in particular, praising the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs in Supporting the authentic national heritage.
He said: Certainly, organizing a festival bearing the name of His Highness confirms the great interest in the people of the sea and their heritage, which is an important legacy of the legacy of fathers and grandfathers.
He stressed that His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister’s sponsorship of the festival and its name, doubles its value and motivates everyone to participate and be at the heart of the competitions.
He stressed that the allocation of five million dirhams as prizes to the winners will motivate many to participate and compete for the race prizes, which are one of the highest prizes in terms of value. He stressed that the competitions will be held in accordance with the precautionary measures taken to limit the spread of the Corona virus, for the public safety of society, expressing his confidence in the commitment of the participants and the people of the region to all measures, especially since recent events are the best evidence of this, the last of which is the Maritime Commodities Festival, which has achieved very great successes. .
