Is it necessary to make an M4 CSL extra thick? No. Does Manhart do it anyway? Yes.
With a BMW M4 CSL you have a car that is lightning fast and attracts enough attention. You also don’t have to worry that everyone will soon have one, because the edition is limited to 1,000 pieces. In short: there is no reason to visit a tuner with this car.
Yet Manhart now presents the MH4 GTR, based on – yes – the M4 CSL. It’s actually no surprise, because Manhart has already taken care of previous limited BMWs. It seems completely unnecessary, but apparently there is a target group for it.
The Manhart MH4 GTR has a lot more horsepower than a normal M4, so it’s an upgrade after all. With 550 hp, the M4 CSL only has 40 hp more than an M4 Competition, but Manhart now makes 702 hp. The torque is 880 Nm.
The car also has a new stainless steel exhaust system, which is linked to Manhart downpipes. If you ask nicely, the tuner will also work on the brakes. That can never hurt with a car with 702 hp.
Where the M4 CSL has a height set (19 inch front, 20 inch rear), the car is now equipped with 20 inch rims all around. Thanks to a coilover kit from H&R, the M4 is also closer to the asphalt.
It’s less noticeable on a black car, but the M4 CSL is packed with carbon accessories. A splitter, side skirts, spoiler, diffuser, you know it. Because Manhart was in a creative mood this time, they didn’t do gold accents, but red accents.
The carbon you see in the interior was all standard, but Manhart still installed four-point belts and a roll cage. As an extra you also get a matching carbon helmet.
What does that cost? You are for the whole package of extras Manhart a total of almost 50 grand owed. As if an M4 CSL with a starting price of € 215,000 isn’t expensive enough. Our tip: if you really want to tune, just get a regular M4.
