There mandragora officinalis it is a plant that belongs to the Solanaceae family and its bifurcated root is somewhat reminiscent of the human body (anthropomorphic). Since ancient times it has been considered a magical and medicinal plant. In Ancient Greece it was used to promote sleep by adding small doses to wine or food. It was used as an aphrodisiac remedy against sterility, so much so that it is mentioned in Machiavelli’s comedy entitled “La Mandragola”.
