The intention to find out what was happening at his neighbor's house ended up costing the life of a 33-year-old man in Brazil. Bruno Júnior received a shot in the face after he looked into the nearby house, in the Pirapó district, in Apucarana, northern Paraná, upon hearing a loud noise and gunshots.
The moments in which Júnior climbed onto a table to investigate what was happening in his neighbor's house, and when he fell after being shot, were recorded on a security camera.
From the images it can be deduced that the tragic event occurred at night, on March 9. The portal g1 Globe reported that witnesses stated that they heard gunshots in the neighboring house, where I was celebrating a party.
Neighbor alleges he acted in 'self-defense'
Before the authorities, Agnaldo maintained that he acted in self-defense because he thought his house was being invaded.
“He would have heard noise on the roof, so he would have gone out with the gun in his hand. At that moment, he would have seen a man trying to jump over his wall,” said André García, spokesman for the authorities.
The witnesses gave a different version than Agnaldo. They claimed that the shooter had fired several times before reaching Junior.
The police seized the weapon used in the incident, a 380 pistol, in addition to shotguns and ammunition at Agnaldo's house.
The suspect could be considered responsible for aggravated, useless homicide, and for an appeal that made the victim's defense difficult, according to André García.
