The confirmation came directly from the director of Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, who for the uninitiated created the script for the original Lollipop Chainsaw for PS3 and Xbox 360, who with a post on Twitter claimed to have learned of the project only a few weeks ago and that neither he nor Goichi Suda are involved in the development.
“Neither I nor Suda51 are involved in this (the Lollipop Chainsaw remake). I first heard about it from Suda a couple of weeks ago,” Gunn said, commenting on an article, adding that he doesn’t know anything about the project.
“I neither approve nor condemn it! I just don’t know anything about it. But as the articles are starting to use our names, I think it’s important to clarify that no one has ever contacted us about it.”
Lollipop Chainsaw Remake was announced yesterday by Dragami Games, a studio formed by Yoshimi Yasuda, former CEO of Kadokawa Games, as well as executive producer of the original title. The team also includes some developers who have worked on the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. At the moment we know that the remake will arrive in the course of the 2023for platforms yet to be revealed, and will include some changes to the soundtrack and CG cutscenes.
