Last week, the Latvian capital agreed to rename the address of the Russian embassy as Independent Ukraine Street.

Lithuania in the capital, Vilnius, a hitherto unnamed little street was named Wednesday as the Street of Ukrainian Heroes. What makes this designation special is that the street leads directly to the Russian Embassy.

“From now on, the business card of every employee of the Russian embassy will be decorated with a message that respects the struggle of Ukraine, and everyone must think of the atrocities of the Russian regime against the peaceful people of Ukraine when writing the name of this street,” said the mayor of Vilnius. Remigijus Simasius in its opinion.

So far, the Russian embassy has taken its address from a nearby Latvian street. This name was not changed.

In 2018 The square outside the Russian Embassy in Vilnius was renamed Boris Nemtsovin by. Russian President Vladimir Putin critic Nemtsov was shot in 2015 in Moscow.

Last week, in the Latvian capital of neighboring Latvia, it was agreed to rename the address of the Russian embassy as the street of Independent Ukraine.
