Life expectancy in Brazil rose to 76.8 years in 2020, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The data were published today (25) in the Diário Oficial da União.
For those born in 2019, the expectation was to live, on average, up to 76.6 years. In five years, life expectancy rose 1.3 years, while in ten years there was an increase of 3.3 years.
Complementary data, divided by sex, will be released at 9 am by the IBGE.
