LG Electronics (LG) announces that its own innovative Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) is available on the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2021, distributed in markets around the world. LG’s ADAS uses the latest in automotive technology and works in tandem with precise engineering from Mercedes-Benz AG to ensure greater safety for the driver and passengers of the new C-Class.
LG’s sophisticated ADAS system supports a variety of safety-essential functions, including automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane maintenance assistance, traffic sign recognition, intelligent headlight control and adaptive cruise control, to ensure the safety not only of vehicle occupants but also of other motorists and pedestrians. Some features supported by LG’s ADAS system, such as automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning, will become mandatory in many countries on new vehicles by 2022.
LG designed the ADAS system using its know-how developed over many years of leadership in mobile communications, image recognition and connectivity. Advanced AI and deep learningBoth key to LG’s strategy, they enable the camera to collect and process various traffic information to help drivers respond to road and traffic conditions in real time. The system accurately recognizes its surroundings, constantly analyzing the position of the vehicle in relation to surrounding objects, whether moving or stationary, and automatically activates the braking system in the event of an imminent collision. The camera data also allows the system to warn drivers if they are inadvertently swerving into the next lane or getting too close to the vehicle in front.
