The fastest
FP2 on Friday afternoon – the late evening in Italy – showed Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin surprisingly prevailed. The Spaniard made the most of the variable track conditions, setting the fastest time of the session ahead of George Russell’s Mercedes, teammate Lance Stroll and Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari.
Leclerc inattentive
Precisely towards the Monegasque, fresh winner of the home GP in the Principality, the two-time world champion however indulged in a rather argumentative radio teamcontesting the Leclerc’s alleged carelessness in managing traffic in the outlap and the cars that came faster behind him, especially in the final stretch of the circuit.
“Typical Ferrari”
“Leclerc is the slowest of all in the last corner. No mirrors. Typical of Ferrari“. A small dig that seems to confirm above all a certain ‘antipathy’ of Alonso towards his former team, with whom over the years – after the separation at the end of 2014 – there has been no shortage of long-distance teasing.
