The outbreak of the war in Ukraine has aroused multiple reactions all over the world, including that of sport and, more specifically, that of Formula 1. Several drivers and teams have expressed all their closeness to the Ukrainian people, each spreading a message of peace full of hope for the cessation of the conflict in a short time and for the immediate withdrawal of the Russian troops. Among them, one of the most recent personal thoughts was published by the Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.
The Monegasque, through their official profile Instagramposted a message in which he expresses all his pain for the dramatic international situation: “What’s happening in Ukraine – he wrote – it’s incredibly sad and heartbreaking. To see so many innocent people suffering from this situation is horrifying. War should never be an option. My thoughts are all directed to those who are experiencing this tragedy and I pray that this will end as soon as possible ”.
The conflict also touched in a particular way Pierre Gaslywho, during today’s press conference, highlighted all his concern for the evolution of the invasion in Ukraine: “I am personally impressed – He admitted – mostly because I have some people close to me who are in Ukraine right now. It is a very difficult and frightening situation, as they themselves do not know if they will be able to cope with it and if they will be able to see their relatives again. We hope they can find a solution. It’s really sad to see footage of the attacks, with families dying for a reason I don’t share in any way. I hope that other countries can support Ukraine, because it is a small country, and we know how powerful Russia is instead ”.
