Lens, runner-up last season, strengthened its chances of participating in the continental tournament next season, by defeating its guest Lorient 2-0, in the thirty-second stage of the French Football League.
Lens entered the match on the back of its loss in the last stage, 1-2, to Marseille, which was competing with it for the sixth place qualifying for the Conference League, but it regained its balance at the expense of Lorient thanks to goals from Elie Wahi (57) and David Costa (81).
With his fourteenth victory of the season, Lance raised his score to 49 points, in sixth place, 5 points behind Marseille, whose match with host Reims was postponed due to its visit to Italy, in order to face Atalanta in the second leg of the Europa League semi-finals, after drawing in the first leg. His land is 1-1.
Lens also has the opportunity to compete in the Europa League, as he is only two points behind Nice in fifth place.
