A recruitment company is looking for a social worker in the welfare area of Lapland with a compensation of up to 7,000 euros. The welfare area says that they have nothing to do with the job advertisement.
Recruitment company Sofita’s website is looking for a social worker in Lapland with a substantial compensation. The employee should have expertise in adult social work or child family services.
The employee is offered compensation of 5,700–7,000 euros. This turns out to Sofitan on the pages from the published job advertisement.
“Bring your family, pets included, and go on an adventure in the wilderness of Lapland!” the announcement says.
The announcement does not provide details about the job, such as for which period the compensation will be paid. It also does not reveal where in Lapland the employee is being sought. However, support is offered for this with accommodation and other practical arrangements.

Sofita service director Emmi Elovaara According to
The welfare district is the employee’s employer and pays the employee’s salary in accordance with the social security agreement, Elovaara says.
“At the request of the welfare area, Sofita recruits a social worker directly to the welfare area for an official or employment relationship, either temporarily or indefinitely.”
Elovaara repeats his answer about Lapland’s welfare area as an employer, when he is asked about compensation and its amount.
He also talks about the “normal recruitment fee”, which is paid monthly to an employee nominated by Sofita, if the welfare area chooses him for a position. The purpose of the bonus is, among other things, to help the employee adapt to the new location.
Lapland director of the welfare area’s families and working-age services Johanna Korteniemi is surprised by the recruitment company’s announcement and the compensation mentioned in it.
“At our house has nothing to do with the announcement published on Sofita’s website. From our point of view, this announcement is, so to speak, hay. We are not paying such a salary to anyone, and we are not looking for anyone for such a position.”
In the welfare area of Lapland, the monthly salaries of social workers range between around 3,450–4,100 euros. The salary is determined, for example, based on the demandingness of the task. The welfare area of Lapland therefore does not pay the compensation mentioned in the job advertisement.
“Even if we hired an employee from a staffing company, we would pay him the same salary as everyone else,” says Korteniemi.
He knows that through Sofita, a few employees have been hired in the welfare area. All of them are temporary and get paid on the same basis as other employees of the welfare area.
In addition, Korteniemi has known cases where the employees he manages have been approached and lured to work for recruitment companies by offering substantial compensation.
“Well-being areas can only pay the same as what permanent personnel are paid anyway.”
Korteniemi emphasizes that the job advertisement is not for Lapland’s welfare area, but for Sofita.
“We don’t even have a position open where the Wanted employee is reported here.”
HS reached out Sofita’s service director Elovaara still has to comment on the response of the welfare area. Elovaara told HS that he has nothing to add to his previous comments.
Others too there are cases in welfare areas where a recruitment company has advertised a non-existent position.
HS told earlier in the fall The position of health center doctor in Jyväskylä advertised by the company Pisarat Terveyspalvelut. Central Finland welfare area however, does not direct cooperation with the company. According to the information of the welfare area, no subcontracts have been concluded with the company in question either.
