According to AFP, during the unrest, unknown gunmen shot at the police and hundreds of local Serbs gathered at the barricades. Ethnic Serbs parked vehicles on the roads and stopped traffic.

According to the police release, no one was injured.

Feelings according to the controversial draft law, those arriving in Kosovo with Serbian identity documents must replace them with a temporary document during their stay in the country. In addition, the government demanded that Serbian-issued license plates be replaced with Kosovo license plates within two months.

However, late on Sunday, the Kosovo government said in a statement that it was delaying the implementation of the law until September 1 in order to “remove all barricades and achieve full freedom of movement” on Monday.

According to AFP, the president of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that the situation in Kosovo has never been more “complicated” for Serbia and ethnic Serbs.

Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti in turn accused Vucic of igniting “unrest”.

Kosovo has already been recognized by about 100 countries, including the United States and most EU countries, but Serbia refuses to recognize it.
