D.he possible future government partners, the SPD, Greens and FDP, agree, according to the Green Party leader Katrin Göring-Eckardt, on the introduction of mandatory vaccinations in certain areas. “We will need a compulsory vaccination for institutions, nursing homes, day-care centers, etc. We will get this off the ground, ”said Göring-Eckardt on Monday in Berlin. When asked, she confirmed that the members of the desired traffic light coalition were in agreement on this question.
The move is not part of the reform of the Infection Protection Act, which is to be passed this week, but a separate legislative process, explained Göring-Eckardt.
Despite the planned tightening of the corona measures, the shops in Germany should remain open in the future, according to the will of the traffic light parties. “We don’t have to close any stores, the virologists also tell us that,” said Göring-Eckardt. The restaurants should also remain open as long as they can provide enough space with appropriate hygiene concepts.
Bars may be closed
The bars, on the other hand, could be closed. There should only be as many people as possible under the conditions of the pandemic. When implementing the planned 3G rule in public transport, there should be no constant controls on the doors of buses and trains, said Göring-Eckart. Rather, it should be queried as part of ticket controls. There should also be fines.
In the case of local public transport, the districts have announced resistance to the plans of the traffic light parties. “As right as it is to reduce contacts in public space, it is just as wrong to make restrictions that cannot be implemented,” said Reinhard Sager, President of the District Assembly, of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (Monday). The 3G regulation would be “practically impossible to control” in local public transport.
The federal-state summit is to agree on nationwide 2-G and 2-G plus
According to Göring-Eckart, it still has to be clarified how the regulation is to be implemented in the school buses. “The schoolchildren shouldn’t have to stay at home because they aren’t allowed on the bus.” According to the green parliamentary leader, there should also be a 2-G rule for exercising indoor sports.
From the federal-state summit planned for Thursday the “common sign” should go out to “agree on 2-G and 2-G-Plus across Germany,” Göring-Eckardt said. “We create this possibility in the law.” Then the countries should also apply it. The “traffic light” is now presenting something that corresponds to the reality and the drama of the situation, but also to the advice of scientists.
SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz had previously announced that the traffic light parties wanted to take all the necessary decisions against the worsening of the corona situation in Germany. “We will continue to be well advised today, I believe that this is in a very constructive way, and otherwise, of course, we will also contribute to making all the necessary decisions so that we can keep the infection process under control and this week also in the Bundestag make the right decisions, ”said Scholz on Monday before the continuation of the coalition negotiations between the SPD, Greens and FDP in Berlin. On Thursday, the traffic light partners want to adopt changes to the Infection Protection Act in parliament.
