Juan Pablo Montoya closed this Sunday, at 46 years old, an anthology presentation at the Indianapolis 500.
The experienced rider, who was looking for his third title in the iconic race, started from 30th position (after having suffered in the ‘qualy’ due to technical problems) and finished in 11th position, aboard the Chevrolet Arrow McLaren SP #6.
Even in the last restart, product of a red flag with four laps remaining, Montoya was very close to getting into the ‘top 10’.

This Monday, aware that the idea in principle was different, Montoya declared:
“We finished 11th, which doesn’t sound very good, but we started from 30th. The first pit stops weren’t the best, so it cost us a lot. It was still a good comeback, we worked hard all day, a lot of people passed by and I enjoyed it, which is the most important thing“.
Now, when the fever for the race won by Sweden’s Marcus Ericsson (Chip Ganassi Racing) continues, a unique video on social media shows Montoya’s impact on motorsports. In the footage, Yerson Castañeda, a Colombian living in the United States, asks the pilot for a photo.
Montoya reacts in an unexpected way for the fanatic.

‘Montoya, give me a photo, please’
“Montoya, give me a photo, please”Castañeda comments at the beginning of the video in question.
The pilot, seated at the McClaren team site, promptly greets the fan quite jovially.
Then, as the fans chant his last name, Montoya approaches the fan barrier. At that point, the end of the first recording.
When asked by fans: “And did you give him the photo?” Mosquera responded with a second video.
‘Did he give you the photo?’
The Internet user said in the first instance that Montoya did not give him the photo. Later, in another comment, he said that there was a photograph. Also, unexpectedly, the pilot “gave something better” to the fan: he signed a cap for him. This is shown in the second footage.
After the initial video went viral, other users have posted what it was like to experience Montoya at the Indy500. The photos of the successful pilot with Colombian followers flood the networks along with comments such as “He is very humble”, “A legend”.
