Today, Sunday, Iraq announced its support for US President Joe Biden’s initiative regarding the Gaza Strip, calling for a positive response to it.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency, that it had reviewed the important initiative launched by the US President and declared its support for those efforts, calling for an end to the crisis in Gaza.
The ministry said, “While we support these efforts… we urge the international community to assume its responsibilities and stop the egregious violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and human rights,” stressing the need “for this to be a step on the path to restoring the Palestinian people’s full rights.”
The ministry indicated that “Iraq is working hard with its brothers and partners to deliver humanitarian aid” to the Gaza Strip.
