The presentation of the “New Energies in the suburbs” project
Genoa – Helping young foreigners under 18 of Sampierdarena and Cornigliano to integrate into the social fabric through educational campaigns that will start from schools against school dropout, the use of alcohol and drugs but also through environmental education. This is the goal of the project presented this morning in Genoa after that Palazzo Tursi obtained 1.5 million euros from the Ministry of Labor.
The project is called “New Energies in the suburbs”. “We are still defining the guidelines of what will be the activity that is not yet defined in detail but the goal is to help young foreigners to integrate into our society in the best possible way. For this reason we have chosen Sampierdarena and Cornigliano, areas where there is a strong immigration, especially from South America, also of second and third generations “, explains Giorgio Viale, the city councilor with delegate for policies for the regulation of migratory phenomena.
It is estimated that 22% of the total population of Sampierdarena and Cornigliano was born abroad.
