The report made by the consultants calculates the price of abandoning the information system, but also presents ways to continue with Apot.
Vantaa and in the Kerava welfare area, it has been calculated whether the criticized Apotti system could be abandoned. The answer may be later, but no decisions have been made yet.
The report presented to the politicians suggests that one of the three alternatives would be to buy a new information system to replace Apot.
In the two competing alternatives, Apotis would be retained.
In the second, Apotti would be developed in even closer cooperation with the city of Helsinki and Husi, which also use it.
In the second, the Vantaa and Kerava region would try to steer development more strongly in the direction it wishes, regardless of what others are doing.
The regional government got acquainted with the report made by the consulting company Deloitte on Apot in its meeting, the council will do the same later.
Welfare areas will spend a lot of money in the next few years on renewing information systems.
A joint Apotti is already in use in the Vantaa and Kerava region, in Helsinki and in the Hus group. However, the other regions of Uusimaa do not worry about it.
The report states that the dreams of a closer cooperation when Apotti was bought at the time have not come true.
The same system as Hus is still considered a strength.
Hus has started his own investigation of Apot, but its goal is not to give up the system, but the direction of its future development.
The costs of the abbot are considered high and it has not saved time as intended. Because Apotti is perceived as so difficult to use, on the contrary, it increases time and decreases productivity.
The report still assesses that it would be possible to develop Apotti so that it could develop into an excellent information system. We don't want to waste the development work done up to now.
Current the contracts bind the welfare area as users of Apot until at least the end of 2028.
If you were to buy a new information system, it would cost several tens of millions of euros and it would be difficult to find a suitable one. Once completed, the new system could ultimately be cheaper to maintain than Apot.
A long and expensive process, however, the settlement is consistent.
