The National Weather Service of the United States indicated that, due to the heavy rains and tornadoes that have been recorded in that country, there is a risk of flash flooding in certain areas of Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.
In Nebraska we are already seeing some damage due to this. On April 26, a strong tornado crossed Interstate 80 northeast of Lincolnthe capital of said state.
Several tornadoes have been reported across the state, but the most destructive storm moved from a largely rural region toward the northwest suburbs of Omaha.
From Friday night into Saturday, the system is expected to move into the central plains, bringing severe weather conditions. Heavy snowfall is expected in the Rocky Mountains during this period.
The primary threats associated with these storms include large hail and the possibility of tornadoes, some of which could be significantly strong and have long tracks. There is concern that tornadoes could form from Ames, Iowa, to Wichita Falls, Texas.
