Ice hockey | HIFK continued its wild scoring streak in Kuopio, already points from 11 games in a row

The people from Helsinki have gone without points only in the season opener against Tappara.

Sword and HIFK met in Liiga on Saturday. The match was watched by Kuopio’s record audience of the season, i.e. 4,939 spectators. However, the Kuopio audience was badly disappointed, as the visitors took the victory with a dull score of 6–3.

The Helsinki team lost to Tappara in their opening match of the season, but since then points have been taken from every match of the season. The streak is now no less than 11 games long. KalPa, on the other hand, went without points in their home match for the first time this season.

The gold helmet was the power man of the visitors on Saturday Kristian Vesalainen. The attacker scored 1+3 wild power points in the match. Vesalainen’s performances are now 6+8=14 in 12 matches for the whole season.

HIFK managed to win all three matches of the week. Golden Helmet Vesalainen was naturally satisfied with his own performances after the match.

“Today was pretty much the first time we had a good 60-minute game. This was a really good match for us and a good week”, said Vesalainen after the match in an interview with MTV Katsomo.
