When Agent Benett opened the envelope and saw Lennie for the first time, his heart was literally shattered.
What we tell you today is the story of a tiny kitten, later renamed Lennie, who was found dying by a policeman. Agent Benett had received a phone call warning him of a suspicious plastic bag in a park and immediately rushed to see. What was in front of him shook him strongly.
This is certainly not the first case of abandonment or abuse that we tell you and, unfortunately, it will not be the last. The truth is this world is full of mean people who do not appreciate the gift of life and decide to vent their ills in the poor innocent animals.
Fortunately, the same world is also full of nice people who fight night and day to give these defenseless creatures a better future than the one their former owners had reserved for them.
In this story of bad there is only one, while good, fortunately, there are several.
The first to prove he has a kind heart was a passerby which, noticing a plastic bag on the ground moving, in the middle of a park, he decided to contact the local police station.
Agent Benett, who was on patrol that night, decided to go and check right away. Arriving on the spot, he opened that envelope and noticed that inside there was a very small and very sick kitten that was about to die.
Lennie’s new life
Someone had sealed that kitten in the bag and had it thrown away, condemning him to a practically certain death. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the policeman immediately loaded him into a car and took him to a study veterinarian.
The doctor made some analyses and he realized how serious his condition was. He had fleas, sick eyes, and a broken leg. It wasn’t going to be easy to save his life, but neither the doctor nor the kitten were going to throw in the towel.
After a few weeks, Lennie got it recovered almost completely. He has found a temporary home and is working hard to get back to the best possible shape.
Everyone, including the volunteers and the veterinarian, is convinced that he will have his second chance to be happy.
