A gas station exploded on Avenida Cairú, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, this Saturday, 4th, amid the flooding that hit the city. The Fire Department did not say whether there were any victims or the suspected origin of the fire.
Through social media, the meteorology company MetSul published a video taken at the location, which shows a large cloud of dark smoke taking over the sky in the region.
Also this Saturday, a fire also broke out in a building in the Fourth District. According to the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul, the fire was being controlled in the early afternoon. No casualties were reported.
When contacted, Porto Alegre city hall did not comment on the accident. The Military Brigade also did not position itself. The space remains open for demonstrations.
The climate tragedy in the State of Rio Grande do Sul has already resulted in 57 deaths, in addition to 67 missing people. Municipalities remain on alert to rescue residents in risk areas.
