A dozen Hyundai Tucson models have been recalled to the United States due to a problem with the front and rear headlights. Let’s talk about 12 units of the SUV of the Korean house, all produced on February 26 last at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama plant: all these specimens were equipped with an integrated central control unit produced without having previously completed a software reflash, which was instead required. The consequence of this incompatibility materialized in headlights that did not work either at the front or at the rear in certain circumstances.
The first complaint related to this problem dates back to last May: that was the period in which more and more complaints regarding the functioning of the headlights came to Hyundai, which in fact decided starting from the following 2 June to start a internal preliminary review to understand what the nature of the problem was. On 22 October, a few months later, the supplier of the ICU (the integrated central control unit) identified a production batch of 12 units that had been produced without the aforementioned software reflash: fortunately Hyundai announced that it would not be aware of accidents or injuries to people related to this problem, also considering that all 12 units have been repaired by dealers even before the recall agreed with the NHTSA was issued.
