The British Embassy in Colombia, through a statement, confirmed President Gustavo Petro’s announcement about the decision to eliminate the visitor visa for Colombian citizens for a period of up to six months.

As explained by the institution, the idea is to make the rich culture, long history and beautiful landscape of the United Kingdom available to our citizens. In addition, it is not only seeking to expand tourism, but also to open business opportunities.
“We are happy to share with you that today the United Kingdom announces that from November 9, 2022, nationals of Colombia will not need a visitor visa to travel to the United Kingdom for a period of up to six months.”, can be read in the message from the embassy.
Now, many Colombians wonder how much a trip to the British country can cost, considering that it is no longer necessary to invest in the entry permit.

Tickets and flights to the United Kingdom from Colombia
In principle, keep in mind that Avianca is the only airline that has direct flights between Colombia and the United Kingdom.
For this reason, the company announced that it will work jointly with Heathrow airport in London and other tourism organizations in the British nation so that by 2023 the flow of tourists to English lands can be increased.
The United Kingdom and Colombia have historically been strategic partners and, without a doubt, an axis to strengthen that relationship has always been and will be commercial aviation.
“As soon as the post-pandemic restrictions were lifted, we were the first to want to fly. Today we also celebrate the decision of the governments and believe that it is an opportunity to have incremental capacity to and from that destination. We will work together with the authorities and Heathrow Airport to make it a reality”, were Adrian Neuhauser, President and CEO of Avianca, according to the airline’s official website.

At the moment, there are 14 weekly flights operated in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, representing an offer of 3,500 seats per week, including seats in Business Class. These They have values that range between 2.2 and 2.9 million Colombian pesos per trip, on flights close to Christmas this year.
