First impressions of the team on Elden Ring.
The reviews of Elden Ring have started to be published on the Internet and one thing is clear: the new game developed by FromSoftware is a masterpiece that has already established itself as one of the most popular games of all time.
However, as is often the case, the title has a problem: its performance. Now we can already know how Elden Ring works after patch 1.02 available on day one. Digital Foundry has not yet been able to do an exhaustive analysis on this, but it has nevertheless offered a preview so as to give players an idea of what they will find.
Digital Foundry’s first impressions aren’t very positive. The team points out that, even after patch 1.02, the performance of Elden Ring on consoles is still unstable, especially worrying the new generation consoles because they are more powerful. In this sense, they point out that on Xbox Series X the game continues to run between 45 and 60 frames per second, very variable in performance mode, as it does on PlayStation 5. For its part, the quality mode offers a variable range between 30 and 60 fps.
Finally, it should be emphasized once again that the PlayStation 5 version, while also unstable, works with a slightly higher framerate than that of the Xbox Series X version.
As we said, this is a preview as Digital Foundry will do its full analysis once Elden Ring will be released, or tomorrow 25 February.
