On the eve of the British Grand Prix, the Red Bull team principal Christian Horner had provided predictions turned out to be completely accurate on the performance of the Mercedes at Silverstone. The British manager, also considering the updates made by the reigning world champion team in view of his home race, in fact expected a faster W13 than the previous seasonal outings, which actually happened over the entire weekend, which ended with 3rd place for Lewis Hamilton.
Interviewed by racingnews365.com at the end of the English appointment, Horner was therefore absolutely right on what his pre-Silverstone sensations had been, reiterating however that these performances will not be repeated by Mercedes in all the remaining GPs on the calendar, but mainly on some slopes with characteristics similar to those of the British one: “It will be interesting to see what happens in the next races – said Horner – but their strengths will emerge particularly when we move to this type of circuits “.
In this regard, the Red Bull team principal wanted to relaunch another prediction on the track where Mercedes will be able to play an important card in order to concretely aim for victory: “I think the Francein particular, it will be one good opportunity for them. They are probably happy that we will not be in Singapore this weekend – he joked, referring to one of the tracks most favorable to the characteristics of Red Bull – in any case, it will be a continuous alternation of more or less positive performances ”. The next chapter of the challenge between the top teams is scheduled for this weekend at Red Bull’s home race in Austria.
