Hockey Head coach’s harsh assessment of Patrik Laine’s current mood: “He has lost momentum, no doubt”

Patrik Laine has played quite inefficiently since his return.

Columbus Blue Jackets Patrik Laine the season has not become as desired.

Laine, 23, started the season strongly, with 3 + 7s in nine matches. Laine was then injured in early November.

He suffered a lower body injury, and in late November Laine’s father Harri Laine died.

Eventually, the game break lasted for nearly two months, and Laine did not return to the trough until December 30th.

He immediately succeeded in scoring against Nashville, but has been quieter since. In the 11 matches played after the break, the powers show 3 + 2, so the powers of the 20 matches in the whole season are 6 + 9.

Editor of The Athletic Aaron Porzline says he asked Columbus head coach From Brad Larsen, has Laine fallen to last season’s level. Laine made modest powers of 10 + 11 in 45 matches last season.

“Yes, he has fallen off the pace, no doubt about it,” Larsen replied.

“I’m trying to let him work through it. We have had good discussions and we are working through this in the right way. ”

Larsen He asserted that the intention is to avoid the events of last season, when Laine ‘s goal – free tube was 14 matches long.

“I don’t think he wants the same path. It is my job to help him if it becomes difficult. ”

“I want to help him grow as a player. We need him. We are working to get him back to the level where we need him. ”
