The incidence drops 35% in the last week and the councilor Pedreño confirms that the Region of Murcia reaches March with “an improvement in all indicators”
The Ministry of Health will close the mass vaccination points in April. These centers will continue to function during March, but from next month the doses will only be administered in health centers, according to the Minister of Health, Juan José Pedreño, this Monday after the Covid Monitoring Committee.
Immunization rates are already high and booster injections have stagnated among those under 40 years of age, so the number of vaccines that are injected each day already makes these large centers, one of the main pillars of the campaign, dispensable. In fact, from this Monday in Murcia only the Myrtea shopping center remains.
Pedreño also confirmed at a press conference that the Region of Murcia arrives in March with “an improvement in all indicators” of the coronavirus. Specifically, the incidence fell last week by 35% more. At 14 days, it already stands at 730 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a drop of almost 30 points on the last day. The 7-day rate drops to 296. This Sunday only 91 new cases were registered.
Income is also down. There are currently 241 Covid patients hospitalized in the Region of Murcia. Of the total, 39 of them are in intensive care units. Health registered two new deaths this Sunday, two men aged 77 and 87.
