Britannian gymnastics has been turbulent in recent years. Several gymnasts have told widespread exploitation and a physically and mentally harmful culture of the species.

More than 40 gymnasts have filed a lawsuit against the governing body of the British Gymnastics Federation. A report on the abuses will also be published this week.

Sunday news channel BBC said a former international-level acrobatic gymnast Eloise Jotischky was the first to win a civil lawsuit against the federation.

Jotischky says the coach of his former gymnastics club verbally disturbed him and urged gymnast girls to use unethical weight loss methods.

According to Jotischky, the coach put him on a diet that included 1,200 calories on training days and about 800 calories on days when there were no exercises. Jotischky was in coaching at the age of 10-14 and practiced 25 hours a week.

To the weight shame was added, and the coach, among other things, barked at the appearance of the gymnasts.

When Jotischky weighed 46 pounds at the age of 12, the coach required him to lose five pounds. According to him, the athletes were weighed in the rehearsals, and if the result did not please the coach, it cried out.

“Weighing was every Saturday, but sometimes we were also weighed during the week if they didn’t like our appearance,” Jotischky says.

According to Jotischky, the coach treated the male gymnasts differently: he bought them fast food, which he told them to eat in front of the female gymnasts.

The governing body of the Gymnastics Association has apologized to Jotischky. The coach no longer works for the club or the federation, and the BBC did not reach him to comment.

Britannian The Gymnastics Association is preparing to receive an extensive report on abuses within the sport on Thursday, says The Guardian.

Report made Anne Whyte already said in last year’s interim report that it had received contacts from nearly 400 people. Of the cases, 39 were considered so serious that they were referred to local authorities for child protection reasons or because of criminal activity.

There have been many changes in the sport association since then, the management team has changed and various measures have been taken to address the harassment.
