The cloud gaming service of Microsoft, xCloudhas recently teased gamers with the prospect of playing the likes of GTA V and Elden Ring without having to resort to a console, although the owner of the platform later provided an explanation.
Xbox fans on Twitter immediately shared screenshots of GTA V, Elden Ring, and many other games listed as playable via Microsoft’s cloud gaming service. This has led some to wonder if these games will soon be added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimatethe top tier of Microsoft’s subscription service that includes Xbox Live Gold, Game Pass, and cloud gaming.
Unfortunately Microsoft shared a statement with Eurogamer.net in which he explains that these ads were a system bug and have been removed. A quick glance at the xCloud service on PC and an Xbox Series X confirms that they are actually no longer listed as compatible with the service.
So, the official line is that these titles have all been listed in error, but perhaps Microsoft may have some surprises in store for Gamescom.
