The Turin driver radiant for the victory: “Very happy because we have done a huge job”. Mir sees Suzuki on the road to relaunch: “For the first time we had an excellent package to fight”
Francesco Bagnaia on Ducati won the Algarve Grand Prix in the MotoGP class, which closed with a red flag two laps from the end due to the accident between the KTMs of Miguel Oliveira and Iker Lecuona. The Turin rider preceded the Suzuki of Joan Mir and the Ducati of team mate Jack Miller. When he was in seventh place and five laps to go, the world champion Fabio Quartararo also crashes on Yamaha, and this hands over to the Borgo Panigale Team, with one GP in advance, the Constructors’ World Championship, thus defending the title won last season .
I sin to the fullest

An extremely positive balance for the contribution given to the team, but also on a sporting and personal level. Bagnaia enjoys victory in Portugal. “I enjoyed every single session of this weekend, I had extraordinary sensations from the first session and everything was perfect. It would have been nice to close with a checkered flag, but I’m happy that the red flag was not displayed for something serious, in fact before celebrating I wanted to realize that no one had been seriously injured. With the Ducati we have done an incredible job this year, adapting the bike to my needs, Ducati opened their minds, we worked on what we had, I adapted my braking to this bike and I put more distance into it. which comes from my style: we have to start from here for next season. In this vintage I have learned to have the awareness of being really strong, it is something that gives me a great boost for next season ”. Bagnaia is also radiant for another reason: “It is the weekend where I felt stronger in the season, I was stronger in Misano too, but Quartararo was close by, while here everything was easy. In Misano I had built a chapel, I couldn’t afford it here and I pushed carefully to the end ”.
Joan the concrete

Mir finished second with his Suzuki: “I am very happy for the team, we have often been in front and in the positions that matter: we have returned to the level that is suited to our potential. The front row helped, it’s something we need to hit more often, but Suzuki has worked a lot and I think we’ve found the way. We have a lot of work to do in the tests, the team will bring a lot of new pieces and I think we see the light. I am also more relaxed: I have asked myself a little too much in this vintage after last season and mentally it has been very hard. After Misano 2 I took off and arrived here in the best conditions ”.
Difficult for Jack
–
Third place for Jack Miller with Ducati. The Australian explains the difference between his race and Bagnaia’s as follows: “It’s a shame to finish with the red flag. I don’t even understand who was involved and how he’s doing. In any case, I tried to manage the rear well, while halfway through the race I told myself to go a little slower. I was under management and all in all I managed to keep pushing ”.
