This year, on June 16, Giacomo Agostini turns 80. To celebrate, a book will be published in May highlighting the exceptional career of ‘King Ago’.
The book includes statistics from over 500 races, 80 questions & answers and racing anecdotes; from the first race in 1961 to the last in 1977, all peppered with commentary from competitors and friends. Ago’s career as a team manager with three world titles also receives the necessary attention. The whole is beautifully illustrated with photos, most of which have not been published before.
If it could be a bit more exclusive, we would still recommend the Prestige version. It will be printed on 313 copies, the same number as Agostini’s victories in GPs (123) and other international races (190). The beautiful illustrations in this Prestige version are by Luc De Clerfayt, whose hand you have undoubtedly seen many old school posters by.
The book comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity in the buyer’s name with a reference to the victory, a photo of a highlight of Giacomo’s career, a bookmark and an illustration created especially for the release of the book. And one or two surprises…
The standard book costs 59 euros, for the limited edition you pay 123 euros. More info can be found here†
