Preliminary data of the German gas network operator Gazkid showed that it is expected to resume pumping Russian gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline tomorrow, Thursday, after the completion of periodic maintenance work.
Jazkid operates two Nord Stream 1 reception points in Lubmen in the northeastern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
And the company’s website indicated that it had received notifications of the return of the flow of gas shipments to both points.
A spokeswoman for the company said that such notices or notifications are a condition of the transfer of significant quantities, noting that such notices can change even shortly before the actual delivery.
Last night, Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the resumption of supplies after the end of maintenance work and was quoted by the Russian “Interfax” news agency as saying that “Gazprom (company) fulfills its obligations and is willing to continue to fulfill its obligations.”
It is noteworthy that gas pumping through the most important pipeline for Russian gas imports to Germany has stopped during the last ten days of the annual periodic maintenance work.
The German government was concerned that the gas tap passing through the line might be turned off.
The gas flows, which have been notified to “Gazkid”, at least indicate that gas is being pumped again in general, but the available data do not reveal with certainty whether the gas will actually flow from tomorrow and in what quantity.
