Genoa – It is said that unity is strength. And when it comes to doing good, results are not long in coming. The proved it Mini Game of the Heart which took place on Saturday 17 December at the Fabrizio Pitto sports field, in the Genoese district of Borgoratti: during the event more than 7,000 euros were raised which will be destined for the Guscio dei Bimbi, the pediatric hospice of the Giannina Gaslini Institute.
“We are really happy and satisfied, it was an incredible event that demonstrated the great heart of the Genoese and gave a smile to the children present”, he commented to Secolo XIX Alex Flyer, Genoese freelancer, founder of the Facebook group I Love Genoaamong the promoters of the initiative with Talita Consalvo, Ignazio Barone, Michele Raffaelli and Ivan Spanish.
A day of sport, music and solidarity – attended by former players from Genoa and Sampdoria, including Mimmo Criscito and Christian Puggioni, old glories of Genoese football but also Ligurian comedians, musicians and artists – which ended with a great result, the result of donations from sponsors, from those who participated in the charity event and also from home by those who were unable be present. “None of us organizers have benefited from even a cent of reimbursement of expenses and both guests and staff have all lent themselves free of charge. This demonstrates the big heart that we have all put into it and the solidarity that has united us to create something truly unique – adds Flyer on the I Love Genova Facebook page – We are simple people, but we have achieved a truly great result! We thank all the sponsors who contributed, the guests, all the participants in the event and those who contributed with a donation”.
