French Prime Minister Jean Casteks announced that the country will freeze gas prices. His words are broadcast on TF 1 TV channel RIA News…
According to Kasteks, prices will be frozen throughout 2022. This decision was made on the basis of forecasts of experts who believe that the decline in prices for raw materials will occur more slowly than expected. It is noted that initially the country’s authorities intended to slow down prices until April.
Gas prices in Europe have skyrocketed in recent months on the back of reduced supplies from Russia and Norway and higher energy demand. On October 6, the cost of gas approached the level of two thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters, but then dropped after Putin’s words about a possible expansion of supplies.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out that the country is not interested in an increase in gas prices. He noted that the decline in gas consumption in the European Union (EU) countries may affect Russian companies, including Gazprom.
