The two sides of the football coin fall in Bogotá. The face is put on Santa Fe, which last night took another step towards the final and came within a draw in Ibagué, against Tolima, to fight for the title under the guidance of the coach Pablo Peirano. The cross carries her Millionaireswhich in the absence of honorilla dates – the shame can be worse! – is eliminated and last in the League and the Libertadores.

Empty hands
There were many bad games with unusual errors on the court and the bench, and low general level. What happened to Millonarios, who until November of last year was praised by all critics and applauded by rival fans in their stadiums?
A miscalculation and, perhaps, overconfidence. Gamero admits the first: “We thought we had put together a team to fight (…). “We have to look at what happened, why so many injuries, to rethink.” And it is a miscalculation because on January 14, Gamero himself said: “I am very calm and happy with what I have (…) Trust… ”.
And, overconfident, the defeats due to injuries and “specific errors in definition and defense” were downplayed. As if that were minor!
Low level and lack of intensity were evident even in the comeback to qualify. They trusted that for the next game everything would be as before and it never was!
Now, that ‘processes’ thing in football is a lot of nonsense. I have maintained that the technicians invented this to avoid dismissal due to a bad result.
It is true that in the four and a half years that Gamero has been around, Millonarios may have won little for everything he should have won, but even so, this Gamero’s Millonarios is the best Millonarios of the last 35 years. Without discussion.

I don’t believe in processes. I believe in good teams, like today’s Santa Fe, led by Pablo Peirano, clear in their game plan, with high individual levels, loyal to football in its forms and style, with seasoned players and without carts.
Like the good team that Gamero and Millos had last year. Process…? There’s a lot of hype in that.
