Genoa – Fallen trees, uncovered roofs, uprooted poles. The fury of the wind has been keeping the center and west of Liguria in check for hours. Strong storm warning issued on Tuesday 9 November by Arpal, it will remain in force for today as well (more details and forecasts are provided below).
The gusts of the north wind, which in some places reached 120 kilometers per hour (80 kilometers per hour in the Ligurian capital), caused various problems. Several interventions by the fire brigade of Genoa: in via Rubens, in Voltri, the roof of a room inside a bathing establishment has been torn off. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the area was cordoned off.
In via Gramsci a motorcyclist fell and his vehicle caught fire: the flames were extinguished with a fire extinguisher by the owner of a business in the area. The motorcyclist was transported to the emergency room, fortunately he is not in danger of life.
A shelter has come off in via Calamandrei in Voltri. In via Nicola Fabrizi in Quinto the wind has cut down a tree.
Via Scarsellini in Sampierdarena remains closed for some unsafe sheets on the roof of a building.
The loading and unloading operations at the Psa Terminal in Pra ‘are stopped due to gusts.
The measurements taken in Genoa
