The businessman and politician Bernard Tapie died in France at the age of 78. His family members communicated this by entrusting a press release to the French broadcaster BMFTV. The owner and president of Olympique Marseille asked to be buried in the Mediterranean city, which he considered the “city of the heart”. Tapie had been ill for a long time with cancer and was unable to attend the hearings of the trial in which he was accused of fraud in the Credit Lyonnais case last May.
