Mike Brown, creative drector of PlayGround Games, talked about the version Xbox One from Forza Horizon 5 and how this, albeit with some compromises compared to the Xbox Series X | S and PC versions, will be visually one of the best titles never landed on the old-gen console from Redmond.
In an interview with Press-Start, Brown says Xbox One players will be pleased with the studio’s work on the old-gen version of Forza Horizon 5, albeit some hardware limitations, such as the absence of a SSD, inevitably involved compromises not found on Xbox Series X and S.
“The game currently looks great on Xbox One, but there is no SSD. So there are some of the limitations seen in the past“says Brown, explaining later that making the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 5 wasn’t much different than adapting the game for even low-end PCs.
“If you are a PC developer, then you are used to simplifying your technology to work on machines with the lowest possible hardware specs. Because on PC, the lower the specs you can run the game on, the more users you can reach. And honestly, scaling the game on Xbox One is a similar process. I think it will be visually one of the best games on Xbox One.”
“I believe people will love it. It is an Xbox One game, it will not be visually at the level of Series X. There will be loading screens, this is the reality. But I think there was no extra difficulty in making this version over the one for a low-end PC. And I think people will be very happy with the version we are going to release.“
Forza Horizon 5 will be available in stores starting in November 9. If you haven’t done it yet, we advise you to read our preview that we published just yesterday.
