China’s the power of the communist party in the country’s football has once again led to one special decision, the news agency AFP writes.
National team players will henceforth be “strictly forbidden” to take tattoos on their skin, the Chinese sports management line. Existing tattoos are advised to be removed.
In special cases, players can cover their tattoos during matches and rehearsals, but this can only be done with the permission of teammates.
In China, tattoos are generally not considered good by the authorities, but obtaining them is popular, especially among young adults.
Last in a Chinese women’s football match was canceled as players were told they were not allowed to have dyed hair.
The decisions of sports leaders have provoked fierce criticism among the country’s citizens.
“Do you want good footballers or saints?” one commentator wrote on social media, according to AFP.
“Should I just line up right away, that only [kommunistisen] party members are allowed to play football? ” the other grimaced.
