Reuters: Hungary refused to accept long-term NATO assistance plan for Ukraine
Hungary refuses to take part in the long-term plan of NATO member countries to provide assistance to Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjártó, his words are reported by Reuters.
“Hungary will not participate in NATO’s crazy mission, despite all the pressure,” the diplomat said.
On April 4, NATO countries decided to begin developing a plan for long-term military support for Ukraine by creating a fund worth 100 billion euros.
Earlier, Szijjarto criticized the words of French President Emmanuel Macron about sending troops to Ukraine. He stressed that escalation would be very dangerous, noting that the Hungarians do not want a third world war. The diplomat also called on Western countries to look for ways to resolve the conflict through a ceasefire and the start of peace negotiations.
