Football Glasgow Rangers firmly cling to spot in European League quarter-finals with away win over Dortmund – Naples seek draw from Barcelona

Dortmund was in trouble throughout the match against Rangers.

Glasgow Rangers made a big surprise in Thursday’s Europa League playoffs when it claimed a 4–2 away win over Borussia Dortmund. After the first round, the Rangers already have a second leg in the quarterfinals.

James Tavernier took the lead 38 minutes in, as Rangersin broke through on the left and put the 1 – 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper Dan-Axel Zagadou was guilty of making a foul after a corner kick.

Ferran Torres saved Barcelona from shame as he finished off a 1-1 draw against Naples from a penalty kick.

Naples Piotr Zielinski started the game after 29 minutes, but Torres made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side’s lead, but the visitors’ keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it Juan Jesusin after a manual error.

After the draw, Barcelona and Naples will decide the fate of the quarter-finals next week in Naples.

Barcelona will play in the Europa League for the first time in 18 years after being relegated from the Champions League in the group stage.
