The Russian military from the “Brave” group moved to the Kharkiv region. Together with military columns, the Izvestia film crew drove into the center of concentration of allied troops in Kupyansk. Now there are fights in the city and there is no connection, war correspondent Dmitry Zimenkin said on Saturday, September 10.

As the journalist notes, Kupyansk is massively shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and reinforcements in the form of the “Brave” are now most welcome for the local garrison. The soldiers are not moving south yet – sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) of Ukrainian militants are hunting there.
At the eastern entrance to the city there is a stele, and behind it is smoke from the arrival. Rumors are heard. At the gas station, a wrecked Ural is burning down.
“Now there is shelling,” said soldiers from the famous “Veterans” battalion, they are also employees of the military-civilian administration (VGA) of the Izyumsky district, who also arrived in Kupyansk.
The fighters said that the situation in this direction is not easy, showing an exploding shell from an American howitzer, but they are determined and do not intend to retreat.
“We do not turn on the back. We have enough strength. And our people are determined. No one is going to retreat,” says Alexander Tishnits, assistant to the head of the Izyumsky District CAA.
His colleague Sergey Opryshkin, deputy head of the Izyumsky District State Administration, said that soon the situation should become a little calmer, and then normal work will begin.
Now there is no connection in Kupyansk, it is not safe to be in the city. Because of this, there are difficulties in providing medical care. The Izvestia film crew was asked to help transport an elderly woman who, after a stroke, hardly walks. She was accompanied by her daughter and granddaughter. Everyone was taken to the church, then they were helped to get to the village.
Earlier on Saturday, it was reported that the Russian military began the transfer of heavy Solntsepek flamethrower systems in the Kharkiv direction. Intense fighting has been going on here since September 7, when the armed formations of Ukraine (VFU) launched a counteroffensive.
On September 8, the administration of the Kharkiv region announced that the reserve forces were entering the region. It was clarified that fighting continues along the entire line of contact. Local authorities advised families with children to temporarily leave dangerous areas.
The day before, military journalist Yevgeny Poddubny said that Ukrainian troops would not be able to gain a foothold in the Kharkov direction. According to him, the military of Ukraine will only be able to “play attacking military operations in the Balakleya region.”
Russia continues the special operation to protect the Donbass, the beginning of which President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. The key goals of the Russian military are the denazification and demilitarization of the Kyiv regime. Moscow emphasized that the strikes were carried out only on military infrastructure.
