The recent release of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PC it also brought with it some problems regarding the stability of the framerates, small errors that can be fixed with a few simple steps. The steps come directly from the forum Nexus Mods, famous for some mods for a lot of PC games.
After the recent news regarding the possibility of upgrading to Sony next-gen consoles also with the PlayStation Plus version, now come some steps that fix some display errors within the game, especially those concerning the framerate. From a technical point of view, the error is also very simple, as evidenced also by the user BaselineX, who has compiled these simple steps.
The PC port, currently available exclusively on the Epic Games Store, turns out to be one of the worst so far, with many users complaining about Square Enix’s lack of care in porting. Many of the errors present are given by settings set incorrectly, as also highlighted by many users.
At the moment we don’t know if and when Square Enix plans to release the game on Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S consoles as well, given the recent arrival directly on PC after a period of exclusivity on Sony consoles. It should be noted that in the announcement trailer, during E3 2015, there was talk of initial exclusivity, which ended just this year.
Without further ado here are the steps to fix the framerate problems of Final Fantasy VII Remake for PC, allowing for higher stability at 60 fps:
STEP 1:
1) Make your game run in DX11 mode, otherwise this won’t work. There are two options to do this:
a) add “-dx11” in your epic store launch options for the game
b) open epic_emu.ini from Final Fantasy VII Remake -> Engines -> Binaries -> ThirdParty -> EOS and add “-dx11 ″ after AppName = FFVIIRemakeIntergrade -> so it looks like AppName = FFVIIRemakeIntergrade -dx11, save the .ini file.STEP 2:
How to add DXVK async to your game (DXVK is a DX11-> Vulkan wrapper that bypasses the shader compilation of the game and allows asynchronous, stutter-free shaders to work)
1) Go to: DXVK async github
2) Download the dxvk-async-1.9.2.tar.gz file
3) You need to copy the files d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll from x64 folder into Final Fantasy VII Remake -> End -> Binaries -> Win64
4) Run the game!
