Guadalajara Jalisco.- The International Book Fair will celebrate the twentieth edition of the Meeting of Reading Promoters With presentations for three days from November 28 to November 30, the speakers will share their experiences and projects conceived with the mission of spreading the passion for books and reading.
The theme of the meeting will be “Books for Peace” with the aim of highlighting the capacity of reading the socialization process and in the construction of peace, informed the FIL through a statement.
The speakers will be Irene Vallejo, Alberto Manguel, Fanuel Hanán Díaz, Socorro Venegas, Adelaida Nieto, Rodrigo Morlesin and Laura Ortiz, who They will share their experience and work to spread the love of reading.
On November 28, the Spanish writer Irene Vallejo will be accompanied by Socorro Venegas, a Mexican writer and editor, to present a keynote speech called “The Tribe of the Junco.”
Continuing with the activities, Alberto Manguel, Canadian-Argentine writer and literary critic, will offer the talk “No peace but a sword.”
“Armed with books to the teeth: I declare peace to you!”, is the title of the master conference presented on November 29, where Adelaida Nieto, writer and international speaker on cultural issues of social inclusion, peace and well-being, will be the protagonist of the conference moderated by the Mexican writer Benito Taibo.

Later, Rodrigo Morlesin, Mexican children’s literature writer and designer, will speak about the possibility of creating an environment of peace through reading in his conference “Literature, fertile ground for the culture of peace”.
On November 30, the Venezuelan writer, theorist and researcher in children’s literature, Fanuel Hanán Díaz, will arrive to present his talk “Children’s literature, a territory to generate empathy”.
Finally, to close the meeting, Laura Ortiz, a Colombian writer, will narrate successful cases of colombian librarians who faced the armed conflict from the trench of the promotion of reading and the book, during the talk “Reading as a tool for empathy.
The conversations with Morlesin, Hanán and Ortiz will be presented by Martha Ibarra, coordinator of the Meeting of Reading Promoters of the FIL Guadalajara.
