Another jewel of the Special Projects division enriches the Prancing Horse range. This is the Ferrari SP51, a one-off based on 812 GTS that goes to fulfill the dreams of a wealthy buyer from Taiwan, passionate about supercars from Maranello and well-known collector of the Italian brand’s cars. The chassis, engine and front engine setting therefore derive from the standard spider, with the Centro Stile directed by Flavio Manzoni who worked to enhance the open-air qualities of this model, giving life to a car without a roof, optimized to the maximum from the point of aerodynamic and acoustic view.
With its Passion Red livery, the Ferrari SP51 shows all the craftsmanship of the Prancing Horse with various carbon fiber elements embellishing the bodywork. The paint used is a special tri-layer tint while in the center stands the white and blue stripe that crosses the whole body of the SP51 in a longitudinal way and is inspired by the Ferrari 410 S of 1955. There are also several changes that have been made to some external elements, such as the optical groups, renewed both at the ‘front than at the rear or the rims. In the rear, for example, the headlights have been placed in a new position below the spoiler, with the two elements that once again recall the past of the brand and in particular the license plate and the Sport Prototype developed by Maranello in the 1960s.
The interior is also customized, with the Ferrari SP51 cockpit featuring precious Alcantara upholstery, again in Rosso Passionale, with white and blue details. A work that once again underlines the exclusivity of this specimen, one of a kind and above all unique in the world. The Prancing Horse has not communicated the technical specifications and therefore we do not know if the V12 that delivers 800 HP on the 812 GTS has been further enhanced or the same original power has been maintained.
